PRINCE2 Foundation workshop, online module & exam
Overview
All organisations need to apply a consistent methodology to successfully complete projects on time and on budget. The workshop applies the core principles of PRINCE2 in a practical way, using simplified templates, to enable any organisation to implement a streamlined , standard approach to projects.
The combination of the 2 day workshop and the Foundation online module provides a deeper understanding of how to apply the principles to real life projects and has resulted in a 100% pass rate for the Foundation exam
Who is it for?
This qualification is aimed at Project Managers and aspiring Project Managers. It is also relevant to other key staff involved in the design and delivery of projects, including: Project Board members, Team Managers, Business Change Analysts, Project Support and operational line managers/staff.
Course Content
The purpose of the foundation level is to confirm you have sufficient knowledge and understanding of the PRINCE2 method to be able to work effectively with, or as a member of, a project management team working within an environment supporting PRINCE2.
This course will cover the PRINCE2 process flow, themes and principles:
Day 1
- Introduction to Projects and Project Management
- Starting up the Project Process
- Business Case theme
- Project Organisation theme
- Initiating the Project Process
- Quality theme
- Planning Theme
Day 2
- Risk theme
- Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery and Managing Next Stage Boundary
- Directing a Project
- Change theme
- Progress Themes
- Closing a Project
- Summary of key PRINCE2 Process, Principles, Themes
A case study will be used to practice using simplified template documents of the processes and themes as the project progresses.
Foundation online module
The online PRINCE2 Foundation training module (12 month login license), will provide more detailed preparation for the Foundation exam, with an explanation of:
- PRINCE2 Principles
- PRINCE2 Processes;
- Startup, Initiation, Directing a Project, Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Managing Next Stage, Closing a Project.
- PRINCE2 Themes;
- Business Case, Organisation, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change, Managing Progress.
- Foundation exam database with over 400 past Foundation exam questions to practice under exam conditions.
Foundation Exam
The Foundation exam tests your understanding and knowledge of each of the 7 processes, the 7 themes and the principles.
The exam will be held at The Nunnery, or can be arranged to be taken online.
Multiple choice format;
- 60 questions per paper
- 33 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 55%
- One hour’s (60 minutes) duration
- Closed book
