Project Management, with PRINCE2® Foundation accreditation

Overview

This project management course provides a practical, real-world understanding of managing project design and delivery using the principles found in the PRINCE2® methodology (Projects IN Controlled Environments), the world’s most widely adopted project management framework.

Designed for professionals seeking practical execution rather than just academic theory, this program equips you with a clear understanding of the project life-cycle processes and the key project management practices necessary to deliver any project successfully, on time, and within budget.

The project management workshop introduces the practical application of the PRINCE2® methodology using a case study to apply the practices.

For those wanting to achieve the PRINCE2® accreditations, Foundation and Practitioner accreditation can be achieved.

  1. Foundation level covers the core terminology and principles.
  2. Practitioner level demonstrates an understanding of how to apply the terminology and principles in a project scenario.

 

Who is it for?

This course is for anyone that will get involved in managing projects in a business environment. The course is a ‘face to face’ workshop that covers the practical application of the project management life-cycle process, with guidance for applying key practices.

Project Management Workshop Content

  1. Module 1 – (1pm to 5pm)
  • Introduction to Projects and Project Management
  • Key variables to manage to ensure success
  • Identify Business Case requirements
  • Quality acceptance criteria

 

  1. Module 2 – (1pm to 5pm)
  • Organisation roles to manage the project
  • Plans – Using product based planning to identify the products
  • Risk Management

 

  1. Module 3 – (1pm to 5pm)
  • Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery and Managing Next Stage Boundary
  • Directing a Project
  • Change Practice
  • Progress Practice
  • Closing a Project
  • Summary of key Processes, Principles, Practices

Throughout the 3 modules we use a case study to practice applying the processes and practices as the project progresses.

Foundation online module

There is the option to gain the PRINCE2® Foundation accreditation, using the PRINCE2® Foundation online course provided by Training ByteSize Ltd, an ATO of PeopleCert.

The online PRINCE2® Foundation training module is a 12-month online license access to provide more detailed preparation for the Foundation exam, with an explanation of:

  • PRINCE2 Principles
  • PRINCE2 Processes.
    • Start-up, Initiation, Directing a Project, Controlling a Stage, Managing Product Delivery, Managing Next Stage, Closing a Project.
  • PRINCE2 Practices.
    • Business Case, Organisation, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change, Managing Progress.
  • Foundation exam database with over 400 past Foundation exam questions to practice under exam conditions.

 

Foundation Exam

The Foundation exam tests your understanding and knowledge of each of the 7 processes, the 7 practices and the principles.

The exam is closed book taken online.

  • Multiple choice format ;
  • 60 questions per paper
  • 36 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 60%
  • One hour’s (60 minutes) duration
  • No prerequisites
